Britt is a problem solver and ardent fixer-of-things with a doctorate in Neuroscience and years of open source technology contributions. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of California, Davis where he studied cognitive neuroscience and neuroengineering, and his professional career is focused on helping researchers and open source projects achieve their scholarly and humanitarian pursuits. Britt’s research prior to moving into industry focused on understanding and treating many of the cognitive effects associated with hearing loss. Likewise, Britt has been involved in many open source communities, notably that of The GNOME Project, Ubuntu, and Canonical, where he has operated at all levels from volunteer to elected board member.
